Tinto
Tinto Hill is the largest and most prominent landmark in the upper reaches of the
Clyde Valley and stands in complete isolation. For this reason, in good weather
it provides excellent views through 360°.
The route starts at a large car park at Fallburn and follows a broad path which
passes an ancient circular fort on the left and continues along the ridge over Totherin
Hill which is an outlier of the main summit and is about half way along the walk.
The route then continues steeply up towards the summit standing at 707 metres with
it's unusually large cairn.
The summit provides panoramic views on a clear day of both east and west coasts,
south towards the Scotland-England border and north to the Trossachs.
