We are very pleased to be able to announce the first Teenage Heritage Week
( June 18th - June 26th 2011). This special event will take place at Carmichael Scotland for 14, 15 and 16 year olds.
The idea is that teenagers
from all over the world will gathering in Carmichael Scotland to
partake in various excursions and activities to learn more about
their Scottish heritage and roots. Accommodation will be provided in a
centrally located group of holiday cottages and the week will be fully
catered by the Carmichael Estate staff. This event is being organised by
Chief Richard and his
son Andrew in conjunction with the president of Clan Carmichael USA
Arthur Carmichael.
The full program is not yet fixed but to give you a taster here are just a few of the highlights....
- Visit the ancient city of Edinburgh and explore its magnificent Castle, Royal
Mile and cobbled back streets with an experienced local Carmichael
guide
- Visit Stirling Castle and discover the history of the surrounding battlefileds that forged Scotland
- Enjoy our very own mini highland games on Carmichael Clan Lands
- Visit the historic seaside town of Saint Andrews, the birth place of the sport of golf
- Learn anicient crafts and skills from local experts
We have a limited number of spaces so early booking is recommended. The cost will be $695 USD per person,
plus airfares and the week will be packed full of excursions and
activities to inspire the younger generation. Participants will meet
many other teenage Carmichael's from all over the world, making life
long friends whilst learning about their Scottish roots.
